Dwell Convention - Los Angeles

went to the Dwell Convention recently in LA! it was my first time going & i really enjoyed it! here are a few pix i took when i was there for inspiration/reference/fun. went with 2 of my favorite people, Eli & Hiro <3

this was the 1st thing we noticed when we walked in. the part that is protruding out, is actually a bench. it's made out of mostly pretty durable elastic rope. they even let us sit on it!

i'm such an admirer of architecture & actually love the mini models that are created to show the scaled down building. i definitely can see myself building one of these just for fun.

didn't get a chance to read about all these types of new packaging materials that they are using now-a-days, but i'm such a sucker for different types of textured papers. i tend to collect packaging paper, envelopes, advertisements, or even flyers to use later in my werk.

this was our pick of the whole convention! this chair is surprisingly comfortable! the wood pieces come apart like puzzle pieces. the chair contours to your body. you have the option to leave the jenga-like pieces on or you can take them off, then it becomes a normal chair. i see a really really bright future for this designer! kudos kudos kudos!
check out their website: http://www.sitskie.com/

Very interesting guy, he made us freshly brewed coffee on the spot. a different way to brew your coffee that is getting more popular in the states. it brought out a lot of the coffee beans natural sweetness!

in the last year or so, i have been getting into making terrariums & love new modern designs of this hobby.

super into helmets right now
...& anything robotic :)

this is Hiromi Takizawa, she is an amazing glass blowing artist, search for her she is making fantastic werk!

my friends are pretty cute, snacking while we wait to go into the bubble house
