The Institute For Figuring in Los Angeles (screening of Ron Resch's movie "Paper and Stick Thing Film")

Highly recommend this wonderful inspiring institute for knowledge! I have been following this non-profit for awhile with the intention of going to one of their events. The IFF typically sends out emails letting you know what events they have planned (the emails are never excessive, more inviting than anything) and all the workshops/lectures/movie screenings/etc are FREE.

Recently I attended a screening for a Ron Resch movie called "Paper and Stick Thing Film", a rare movie from the 1970s that documents Ron Resch's research/work from the critical period of 1961 - 1969. Highly recommend it to all who are interested in paper folding or not. Ron Resch actually got his Masters in Fine Art, but definitely explored the realms of  mathematics, tesselations, origami, giant paper structures, play with light and sound, even 3D graphics and the list goes on.

A very innovative man with a giant brain. Thank you IFF for sharing Ron's work with your community! Visit their website at http://www.theiff.org/ for more info and make a donation if you can!
